I have been considering writing a book called Parenting for Pendejos because I have seen cyclical family dysfunction and abuse being perpetuated on our newest generations, leaving them to lean towards the world for comfort and finding an even more abusive and hostile place to grow.<\/p>\n
My son just turned 21 and my daughter is 18 and I\u2019m only 19, not quite sure how that happened\u2026 Magic I guess. But seriously, being their mother has given me the biggest lessons in life, teaching me what unconditional love truly is and being inspired by their example as young human beings.<\/p>\n
I see physical abuse at times, emotional\/verbal abuse too often and overall spiritual neglect completely, creating traumatized children with no healthy coping mechanisms and truly void of self-created happiness.<\/p>\n
If you are a parent, I implore you to stop the patterns of abuse you grew up with. Just because it was done to you, doesn\u2019t mean it should be done to your children. Grow up grown-ups!<\/p>\n
Stop pretending you didn\u2019t do the things you are beating or punishing your children for, it\u2019s hypocritical. Respect your children\u2019s feelings and learn to apologize when you are wrong, give them the validation that you never received. Let the hurt end with you, and if you are hurting, go get some help before it is too late.<\/p>\n
All we have is the moment, take this moment to reflect on the things that hurt you as a child and be brutally honest with yourself about whether you are doing these things to your child. You can repair what\u2019s broken within and in turn heal your relationship with the blessing you brought into this world.<\/p>\n
Children are sacred, not trophies to sport around for the public, but beings of light that have limitless potential. You don\u2019t have to wait to die to live a heavenly life, you can create a sanctuary for you and your children by opening your heart to them and sacrificing your ego instead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
