Boogie Rican Blvd

BOOGIE RICAN BLVD. –  a musical in which Caridad played seven characters and was joined with a cast of 5 actors, starring her daughter Carina De La Luz-Vazquez, who was 9 at the time. With the direction of Nelson Vazquez and musical director William Cepeda. The New York Times called Caridad “a Juggernaut” in their positive reviews during her run at The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in Times Square in 2009.

This work was a development of a one-woman show – BOOGIE RICAN – about being Puerto Rican from the Boogie Down Bronx that was presented by The Nuyorican Poets Café, La Tea at Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, The Producers Club and the Live from Edge theater at The Point Community Development Corporation, 1998-2002.
